Rare complication of skin necrosis after endoscopic debridement and cutaneo-fascial suture for a massive Morel-Lavallée lesion in Korea: a case report

چکیده
A Morel-Lavallée lesion (MLL) is a pathologic fluid collection within an abnormally formed space, resulting from internal degloving injury between the muscle fascia and subcutaneous fat layer. Due to its resistance conservative treatments such as drainage or compression dressing, various therapeutic methods have been developed for MLL. However, no standardized guidelines currently exist. Recently, endoscopic debridement cutaneo-fascial suture (EDCS) has introduced treatment of MLL, particularly large lesions resistant approaches. While this procedure known be effective, limited reports are available on potential complications. The authors present case skin necrosis following EDCS massive

Morel-Lavallée Lesion: Report of a Case of Unknown Mechanism
Morel-Lavallée lesions are cystic lesions occurring between the subcutaneous tissue and the underlying layer of a fascia. The most frequent mechanism of occurrence is posttraumatic, usually after degloving injuries. The chain of events leading to the occurrence of this lesion is the formation of a potential space between the subcutaneous tissue and the firmly attached deep fascia, which in turn...

متن کاملEncapsulated Fat Necrosis Lesion Caused by Morel-Lavallée Lesion in a Professional Ice Hockey Player.
Morel-Lavallée (ML) lesions occur when subcutaneous tissue is stripped from fascia and replaced with hematoma or necrotic fat. Encapsulated fat necrosis lesions, which are rare, can occur with disruption of the blood supply in the subcutaneous area, which occurs with ML lesions. In this article, we report the case of a professional ice hockey player with an ML lesion that caused a symptomatic e...
متن کاملUtilization of Liposuction for Delayed Morel-Lavallée Lesion: A Case Report and Review
Morel-Lavallée lesions are irregularly occurring and often overlooked results of traumatic injuries, resulting in potential long-term encapsulation of fluid between soft-tissue layers. The objective in this review was to discuss the delayed presentation of a Morel-Lavallée lesion and operative utility of liposuction in the patient's treatment and review literature with particular focus on diagn...
متن کاملThe Morel-Lavallée Lesion as a Rare Differential Diagnosis for Recalcitrant Bursitis of the Knee: Case Report and Literature Review
A 72 year-old-male was referred to our institution with recalcitrant prepatellar bursitis. The injury was sustained after striking his right knee against a post whilst horse riding 9 months ago. Previous treatments included repeated aspiration and excision of the bursa with elastic compression bandaging. A diagnosis of a Morel-Lavallée internal degloving injury was made, and the lesion was sati...
